Cache co-ordinates don't work so well for this one. I suspect satellite coverage, or squirrels with wireless radio. Regardless, co-ordinates will get you to the location, look on the NORTH SIDE of the building. Sorry, I know that this is a spoiler, but the satellites find it amusing to tell people that the cache is in the septic tank (it is not). Quick park and grab. Stone parking available on property. Cache location is at a restored one room brick schoolhouse.
I am just having fun with this cache, so it doesn't have much of a theme --
First a few notes. See the short description regarding which side of the building to look on (North - side opposite of the septic tank).
Also: I have a ground hog problem, I am attempting to deal with it. If you spot a crazy lady with a net, or a shovel, ignore her.
Location Information:
Particulars: (Former) Name - Biglick #6
May 2, 1861 (1/4 acre – more or less) of property was deeded by Samuel Kemble to the Board of Education. This brick school house was built in 1880 to replace a log and plaster building that was lost in a fire.
For 65 years regular sessions were held until the school closed in the spring of 1926. The 18 students still attending Biglick #6 transferred to a new centralized school in Vanlue, Ohio.
When the school closed, the building and property was sold to the Biglick Center Grange #2224 for $205.00. The Grange held regular meetings in the school house until December of 1995 when they sold the property and school house to us.
We did a complete restore kept the original floor, woodwork, stage, curtains, chalk rail and one section of the slate chalkboard. Please do not open the storm door on the front of the schoolhouse. If it isn't shut properly the wind grabs it and smashes the light on the outside (see hanging light, I did that one).
Since the original contents -- from time to time I add to the cache sculptures that are hand cast / hand finished original concrete. Feel free to take one.
