Geocache Description:

Sam Boyer arrived in Pickering Township from Pennsylvania in the 1830’s. He built two mills on the west bank of Duffins Creek. The earliest was a saw mill that once stood just south of this cache location. Though the mill is long gone, the mill race, a ditch built to direct a controlled flow of water from the mill pond to the mill wheel, can still be seen today. The path to the cache follows the top of the mill race berm and it is said that it was once wide enough to accommodate a horse and cart.

No bushwhacking is required for this cache. Look for an informal footpath immediately west of the bridge along the internal conservation area road. The cache is located within 2 metres of the path.
Be forewarned: The dense tree canopy may cause problems with GPS accuracy.
