Geocache Description:

Enjoy the first views along this lovely hike in the upper Steiltes part of the Nelspruit Nature Reserve.

The cache is a large ammo can, beautifully camouflaged, and was a gift from Erik88L-R who did the camo job using leaves from his garden in Suwanee, near Atlanta, Georgia, USA. We hope that Erik and Carol will one day visit South Africa again, and add this stunning container to their finds list.

About the container : It's a NATO 50 cal metal ammo box. It's not only watertight, but also airtight. It amazes us how it lets off a "whoosh" when it's opened after a temperature change. It might not be 100% fireproof, but it's certainly fire resistant and should cope with most bush fires. Check out the shape of the leaves used for the camo.

This container has stood on our mantlepiece and been admired for a year and a half before we plucked up the courage to put it out in the field. I wonder if we'll ever see one of these again? OK, I guess we can go and admire this one whenever we want to - LOL!!

This cache is near the top of a cliff and is not suitable for hunting at night. Please take care!!

Please re-hide the cache well, and disguise it with sticks and leaves - it would be very sad if it got muggled. Enjoy!!
