Geocache Description:

Mysterious Meteorites # 1

On Saturday the 21st November 2009 at approximately 10:56pm, the night sky over Johannesburg was lit up by an eerie green glow as a meteor streaked through the atmosphere (You can read about it here).

The problem is, no-one can say for sure WHERE the meteor (or its fragments) landed. This cache is located at one of the possible landing sites (see also Mysterious Meteorites # 2 and # 3), where a pattern of strange markings mysteriously appeared on a rocky outcrop. Experts are convinced that these symbols are directly related to the meteor landing. Below is a representation of the mysterious markings:

Photobucket

This is the only known image of the strange patterns, as government agencies removed the actual rock where the symbols appeared.

If you can crack this mysterious code, you might just find a fragment of the meteorite!
