Geocache Description:

A two-part cache, in an urban setting. No hollow tree stumps. Just a logbook right under the noses of our fellow citizens. You just have to know where to look. (Please keep your log entries free of spoilers! It would be nice if this could be a little bit of a surprise for folks. Thanks.)

Find the first location and look for an encrypted message. It will tell you where to find the cache. The cache is a logbook, so you don't need to bring the usual goodies. Nevertheless, this might be a good one for families and kids. You shouldn't get too messy, so it would be a nice lunch hour or rainy day hunt.

Depending on the response I get, I may do some other "Urban Caches". Be sure to bring: A print-out of this page (particularly the Decryption Key) and probably a writing instrument. I'm not posting photos and I suggest using the encrypted hint only if you have trouble finding the message (at location 1). Have fun!

Created in 2001, this is not a variation of any geocache you may have seen. This is the original.

For those of you who are interested, a word about the coordinates: I took 10 reads at this site, during two different visits. I threw out two that were way off. This left eight readings. The coordinates I have posted here are both the mean and the median of those eight readings. The variance was +-.oo2 minutes for both Lat and Lon. Thus, I believe the coords to be accurate within 12 feet N/S and 8 feet E/W.
