Geocache Description:

St. James Anglican Church In 1842 services, according to the Anglican Rite, were first held in a building erected opposite this site which served as a school house and church. The nave of St. James Church was built in 1854. The Canada Land Co. formally deeded this site to St. James for a church and burying ground in 1857. The parish was part of the Diocese of Toronto until 1858 when the Diocese of Huron was formed. The chancel and porch were added in 1880. The tower was built in 1896 to house the bell which was donated by Samuel Mark. In 1931, weekly services were discontinued and the church was designated a "Funeral Chapel". The building still has a "working" outhouse for their bathroom facilities. Many pioneers that came from England are buried here. Some of them are displayed on "above ground" supports. After you find the cache, take a quiet moment and reflect.
