Geocache Description:

On March 19, 1968 a twin engine plane on route from Bridgeport, Ct to Springfield, Vt crashed on the western slope of Terrible mountain killing all 7 aboard. The aircraft wreckage was never removed. This cache is hidden among the debris field. The cache contains a log book, pen and pencil, and reprints of three brief articles about the crash. I approach this site by hiking up the north side of Terrible Mountain. If you can get to N 43 19.453 W 072 44.611 (18 T 0682956 4799291) you will find a marked trail that will lead you to the site. Note this route will bring you over private but not posted land. Though I have not hiked to the site up the western slope, it appears taking the jeep path off of Andover Ridge Road should be doable. Please note you do not need to disturb any of the actual wreckage in order to find the cache.
