3rd Best place in Halifax to play basketball - Oxford Outdoor
This outdoor court is adjacent to Oxford Elementary/Jr High School and central on Peninsular Halifax. The court has been long active and popular on sunny weekend afternoons from June through September.
These courts have been rebuilt 3 times in the last 30 years. The last was completed October 2008 at which time they converted a tennis court to add a location for 2 more baskets. When school is in, recreation classes happen all day, Before and after school and noon hours are always busy.
Outdoor courts are very enjoyable when the weather is sunny and the wind speed low. In Halifax, that is not a common theme, so organizing groups to meet there is a very frustrating thing!
Best to just head over when the conditions are right and enjoy yourself!
