Geocache Description:

This cache is by a newly created saltmarsh, that has been made by broaching the outer bank wall.

Bring your binoculars,as this is a great place for bird and plane spotting.Warton is just the other side of the river.

This new saltmarsh reserve is a great place to admire the gathered pink-footed geese, wigeons, teals and other wildfowl in winter, along with big flocks of golden plovers, lapwings and black-tailed godwits. In spring the marshes are alive with the sight and sound of displaying waders, including avocets and lapwings. But as recently as 2006, the land was used for growing crops.

There is a small car park that is open from 8 a.m till 6 p.m.If you are visting outside these times please park before you pass through any gates.
