FP Series #462 - Chill Wills Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

drives: Seems as though the train has left the building and taken the log with it. Apparently paper is now such a rare commodity that cachers can't afford to carry along scraps with them in order to help out the community by keeping caches in play.

Even though Groundspeak doesn't consider us volunteers (and also could give a %$&* less), imagine how the game will be after we quit spending our time and money hiding these caches just for you to find

Bye Felicia...

Geocache Description:

Four Hundred SixtySecond in the Famous People (FP) Series - Chill Wills
Chill Theodore Wills (July 18, 1902 – December 15, 1978) was born in Seagoville in Dallas County, Texas. He was a performer from early childhood, forming and leading the Avalon Boys singing group in the 1930s. After appearing with them in a few westerns, he disbanded the group in 1938 and struck out on a solo acting career.

One of his more memorable roles was that of the distinctive voice of Francis the Mule in a series of popular films. Wills' deep, rough voice and Western twang were perfectly matched to the personality of the cynical, sardonic mule. As was customary at the time, Wills was given no billing for his vocal work, though he was featured prominently on-screen as blustery General Ben Kaye in the fourth entry, Francis Joins the WACS.

Wills was a poker player and a close, personal friend of Benny Binion, the father of the World Series of Poker and former owner of the Binions Horshoe Casino in Las Vegas. Wills participated in the first world series of poker and is seated in the center of the now famous picture with the other legends of the game.

First stage is located in the Bluebird Capital of Texas at the Historical Society Caboose. You do not need to leave the designated walking area to retrieve the redirector. Please do not step in the flower bed and DO NOT CROSS the fence. Railroad tracks are active.

Second and Final stage is located at the Wills Point Museum just a few hundred feet to the west and across a very busy road. Usually best to drive on over and again, DO NOT CROSS the fence that separates you from the railroad tracks.

No need to disturb any plant life to find either stage. Please take the opportunity to visit the Wills Point Depot Museum if it is open when you are there. Cache has been placed with permission and approved by the curator of the museum and president of the historical society.
