Geocache Description:

This cache is a little different, it is not the same container nor is it at the same location....

The original cache is missing, and the original hide location won't work any more, so I moved the cache down the trail a little further.

I won the original cache as a prize at the Central Park CITO Picnic on March 17, 2007: GC10VJA If you were there, you might have an idea what you would have originally been looking for!! Please be respectful of others while on the hunt for this one.

Samuel Merriman was the first settler in the northwestern part of the community, when he moved onto a large claim in between Whaletail and Ox Yoke Lakes in 1857.

For a little bit of Minnetrista history check out Merriman

My original hide for this cache was down by the lake and over the hill a ways, but this seemed like a good spot for the rehide.
