Geocache Description:

A cache is placed near an old Kagiya (Locksmith) right in the old Hirakata-juku town area.

Hirakata-juku was developed on the old Tokaido Road some 400 years ago because this was conveniently located between Kyoto and Osaka being close to the Yodogawa River on which water transportation was available by ships as well. Now the Kagiya has become a small museum administered by Hirakata City municipal office, where one can learn the history of Hirakata-juku. Opens daily 9:00 to 17:00 except Tuesday.
