Beside road near carpark for the glow worm / limestone cave
This is in a Q E II National Trust site and is a popular excursion for families including young children. Well made steepish track that goes from the carpark to the stream, which you go up, through the cave and in the bush the other side. The first part of the cave is easy, beyond probably not suitable for small children, a bit of a scramble. Need wettable shoes and torch, and possibly a parkha.
Not far from Sixtus Lodge, on Limestone Rd.
A good warmup for Picnic 1, Ngahere o Tane off the end of Limestone Rd.
