Geocache Description:

Please make an original photo of you with the GPS and the boat

This is the moment when you get an idea of the savage power of the tsunami. If you have not been to Bang Niang beach, go there first. Walk back to the Navy Boat. Get an idea of the power it would take to carry a boat of that size two kilometres to its final resting place.

26th December 2004. The Police Boat 813 was patroled in front of the La Flora Resort about 1 NM offshore in order to protect and guarding Prince Bhumi Jensen (Grandson of King) whilst he was jetskiing. The Prince died in the tsunami. A second Boat Tor 215 was vicinity at the time, it has never been found and is presumed sunk/destroyed.

Since 26thDecember 2007 the patrol boat is a official tsunami memorial. Next to the boat, you can find a information desk about the natural catastrophe.
