Monks Eleigh is a very beautiful Suffolk village with a strikingly hidden beauty on top of the hill. The church is beautiful from a distance and up-close and if you have the time, the inside has some hidden surprises for you. Although the interior has been heavily restored in the past, the furniture within includes a 13th century font, a 15th century pulpit, a 16th century bier for funerals, and a fascinating 18th century map of the parish. For music lovers there is an unaltered organ from 1870 and the possibility to watch the bell ringers work on the 6 bells dated from 1330 to 1790.
