NE Rio Rancho off of Rainbow Blvd
Very short walk from dirt road. Roads accessible most of the time and pretty decent for 2WD vehicles if you choose your route carefully.
These lava bombs can be found throughout the entire west mesa areas. Basically they are just that, lava bombs.
Partly melted rock which was ejected during volcanic eruptions which were solidified as they hit the ground rather than spatter or flows.
Interesting mixture of rocks out here including petrified wood.
The bombs come in a wide assortment of sizes as you will see.
