Gecko's Sanctuary Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Parking for this cache is only at Hawthorne Square at: N40º 26.553 W080º 12.581. The cache may only be approached from this parking lot.
There is a rather steep hill to climb down and up but it is a very, very short one.
This cache is named after my cat Gecko who died this past year. Gecko was a cat that we brought with us from Guam. He got his name because while he lived in Guam he loved to catch and eat geckos.
He lived here for five years and his favorite place to sit when outside was the big rock located near the cache. He loved to sit on top of the rock and watch the birds feed at the feeder. He would sit for hours waiting for one of them to fly low enough so he could have a quick snack. He only ever caught one that I know of but he never gave up hoping for more. Please don't dig up the area. He is now buried near there and you might pull up a cat bone or two.
I have always wanted to do a cache but wanted to make it special. I think you will find this cache original and I think you will enjoy it.
The rules for this cache are:
1. The neighbors are aware of this cache and what you will be doing but you do not need to enter anyone's yard for this cache. It is located inside the tree line.
2. Because of the proximity to houses this is a daytime cache only.
3. It is not in the bird feeder so please don't dig through the sunflower seeds.
4. You do not have to climb any trees to get this cache
