Celebrate the Duckies and their 1,000th find -- and maybe they'll swim right past you!
Though the Devil Duckies have been with us in the area for a bit now, they've never had the Golden Ammo Can celebration they deserve for their 1,000th find! So, it's with that in mind that this cache is placed.
Upon thinking about what they like in caching, it was broadened to a good walk/hike and a place to bring their geo-pooches.
I went with the latter.
Not only did I do the latter, I did it in their back pond!
Fortin Park in the Town of Oneonta is an excellent place to cache, stroll, play sports and all sorts of other things. It's somewhat of a hidden treasure to this area. But the beauty of this one? The Duckies bring their pooches here! Ta-dow!
So while parking is quite close to the cache, we don't expect the Duckies would do that. They'll get their walk because they can park at home and bring the puppies on a nice stroll to this cache. They can even keep an eye on it!
This is a traditional golden ammo hidden in a way that a geocacher would spot, but hopefully hiking, walking or cross-country skiing muggles won't stumble across. It was filled with some normal geocaching loot and some Devil Duckies for others to enjoy (as well as a couple of special Christmas ones, just for Peter and Judy!)
Make sure you hit the other caches in the park -- including a two mystery caches that call this park their final homes. In all, as of this posting, there are five caches in Fortin Park, so if you do the work well, you can have a fun day of caching!
And once more, congratulations to Peter and Judy for reaching the Golden Ammo Club. Here's to the next 1,000 and many more!
