We wanted to show you a new hiking path in Readington that runs from Summer Rd. to Pleasant Run Rd.
This is a great new trail in Readington Township. Parking coords. are listed for a small parking area on Summer Rd. near the intersection of Hixson Rd. This trail is under development and so is a little rough in areas. Please wear good hiking boots and watch for roots, etc. The first part of the trail is nicely done and should present little trouble. If you proceed on, the trail is rougher and you should watch your footing (for holes, roots, water, etc.) Please stay on the trail. There is private property on each side. This cache is less than 50 ft. from the path. If you come from Summer Rd., you will have a few creek crossings to navigate. The trip from Pleasant Run Rd. is shorter in distance, but the trail is pretty rough. There is no parking at the trail entrance to Pleasant Run. You would have to park on Hoagland Street and cross Pleasant Run to reach the trail head. (coords are listed below for the Pleasant Run trail head) There is barbed wire in the area, so take care. Also remember to wear blaze orange during hunting season. The hunters should not be ON the trail, but they may be close. Have fun.
