The cache is a 50mL Camo container placed along the shore of beautiful Lake Pukaki, a short diversion from the main road.
Many travellers and campers seem to stop in this area for its magnificent peaceful scenery around the shores of Lake Pukaki. The cache is about 100 metres from a series of landscape art inspired by the area. We would like to know more about this artist as we have seen additions to this small collection and some artwork fade away with exposure to the elements.
Update June2017: Unfortunately the paintings have faded with time and the elements and are now barely visible.
After you have found the cache, head down towards the water to the stone gallery of art:
S44 09.473 E170 13.205; S44 09.470 E170 13.210; S44 09.466 E170 13.209; S44 09.475 E170 13.208 should you have trouble spotting them.
Jan 2010 - added photos of 2 artwork in case you don't have time to search them out. Also, if the lake level is too high ! Fortunately for us, we have always been when the art is not a collection of submerged water colours. Apologies in advance, - but the area is really stunning.
