Geocache Description:

Easy walk in Ridgecrest Park - please observe park hours. Hundreds of muggles will be nearby during baseball games, and some nearby houses look over the cache location, so stealth is required. FTF hounds - don't bother, ccrider2000 is FTF by prior notification. Feel free to be a STF hound though!

The first time I emailed with ccrider2000, it was because they gave me a headache. From reading through the logs of their "Headache" cache, they've given many of YOU some headaches too!

At the time of our first few emails, there weren't many caches in or near downtown Rochester. That has changed significantly, with ccrider2000 adding nine (count 'em, nine) new geocaches withing walking distance of our downtown offices, six of them in May and June. That alone has put a big smile on my face (as well as a bunch of smileys on the goecaching map for me!) I even added one of my own as a tribute to "Headache" ... "Chapped Lips".

Something else that has put a smile on my face is that mom "L" and I have gone out on a whole bunch of "lunch runs" together, grabbing a few geocaches on each of several lunch hours. One of my most favorite geocaching experiences ever was a "lunch run" with "L" doing the "Nick, Sue, Fred, and the Beaver" multi. By chance, we met up with the artist for the statues in the park near the cache location, Pepsy Kettavong. Pepsy already knew dad "K" and mom "L" from school, and he invited us into his studio to give us an impromptu, personalized tour of his works in progress. It was very awesome.

I also have been living vicariously through ccrider2000, watching their finds climb steadily from 700+, then to 800+, and beyond, until just last week they were sitting at 989. Luckily, I had just picked up an ammo can over Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania, and I had just barely enough gold paint left in the spray can. So as I scrambled out of the "3rd Annual Rochester Area Family Event" this past Sunday, and saw them sitting at the door, I chuckled to myself on hearing the news of their 1000th find - I probably still had gold spray paint on my hand!

The cache itself is a .30 cal ammo can painted shiny gold. It is stocked with lots of goodies - pretty much all kids toys (some new, some not). It can be found in a pretty typical geo-spot - please re-hide as good or better than you found it. Shiny gold looks good to muggles! There were some prickers around when I hid it, and I bet the area is loaded with prickers in season, so be careful.

First to find prizes:

For the first to find family, a couple of nice big lammys.
For the first to find person who likes to hide nanos, a ready-to-go magnetic nano cache with log strip. Guaranteed NOT to stick magnetically to park benches that get up and leave.
For the first to find child under 12, an unactivated "Cache Kids, Wild About Geoaching" trackable geocoin.
For the first to find golfer, a box of brand spanking new golf balls. (I couldn't fit the golf balls in the ammo can, so they will be placed in the "Headache" cache mentioned above. ;-)

For second to find, there is a lammy.

I hope that you all enjoy this cache; please join me in sending your congratulations to ccrider2000, and wish them luck for the next 1000!
