Geocache Description:

Dougs94 and Linda snag the FTF on this one.

CONGRATULATIONS!

This cache area is one of the many locations in this part of Georgia that was used in the first 5 episodes of the Dukes of Hazzard.

PLEASE! Do not hunt for this cache at night as it is located in a residential area.

Bring you own pen to sign the log. Some tweezers could help also when taking the log out of the container.

The cache is not located inside the fenced in area of the property. It can be accessed from the road and should be an easy park and grab.

The cache is a magnetic nano and is hidden in the right of way.

Here you will see the TV filming location of the original Duke Farm House in the first 5 episodes of the TV series, "The Dukes of Hazzard".

Below are scene captures from some of the TV episodes and photos of what the area looks like today.

Above is a TV screen capture of the Duke Farm House taken from one of the original first 5 episodes. Below is a photo taken by me February 21, 2010 at the approximate same location and angle the TV film crew shot the scene. Here you will see what remains of the building that still stands. The previous owner of the property has torn down the front and back rooms of the house. The only portion that remains is the center of the structure.

I was notified by a hunter of this cache that the current owner was forced to take down the entire structure. When I spoke to the owner in February 2010, he did inform me that the structure was in really bad shape then. I went by in August of 2011 and took a new photo, seen below, of the 2 chimneys that remain.

NEXT PHOTOS ARE VIEWS TAKEN OF THE REAR OF THE STRUCTURE.

Above is a TV screen capture taken from one of the original first 5 episodes. The General Lee is parked on the West side of the Farm House. Below is a photo taken by me February 21, 2010 at the approximate same location and angle the TV film crew shot the scene. Yes that is me wearing a hood and sun glasses in the photo below.

NEXT PHOTOS ARE VIEWS TAKEN FROM THE SAME SPOT AS THE PHOTOS ABOVE. BUT THE CAMERAS ARE NOW FACING THE STREET UP FRONT.

Above is a TV screen capture where you can see a storage building / small barn across the street on the main road. Below is a photo taken by me February 21, 2010 at the approximate same location and angle the TV film crew shot the scene. The building/barn still stands today and the large oak tree was recently cut down. I am told that it was threatening to destroy the remaining Duke Farm House structure.

NEXT PHOTOS ARE VIEWS TAKEN FROM AND OF THE INSIDE OF THE DUKE FARM HOUSE.

Above is a TV screen capture where you can see the inside of the West room. The camera crew had their cameras set up at the fireplace pointing towards the East door. Below is a photo taken by me February 21, 2010 from the North side of the house into the East door of the room. Since the structure is too dangerous to enter, I was forced to stay outside when taking the photo. Notice the window frame and the paneling inside. It is still the same as it was when episode filming took place.

NEXT PHOTOS ARE VIEWS TAKEN FROM AND OF THE INSIDE OF THE DUKE FARM HOUSE TOWARDS THE FIREPLACE.

Above is a TV screen capture where you can see the inside of the West room. The camera crew had their cameras set up at the East door pointing towards the Fireplace. Below is a photo taken by me February 21, 2010 from the East side of the house, in through the outside window, through the center of the house and in through the East door of the room. Since the structure is too dangerous to enter, I was forced to stay outside when taking the photo. It may be hard to see, but notice the right side of the fireplace and the window to the right. That is where Tom Wopat, who played Luke Duke(Lucas K. Duke), was standing in the TV scene above. The wall paneling is still in place as well.

SOME OF YOU MAY REMEMBER THAT UNCLE JESSE HAD A MOONSHINE STILL OPERATION IN THE EPISODE "HIGH OCTANE". THE REMAINS STILL EXISTS ON THE SAME PROPERTY TODAY. IT IS LOCATED IN THE FOREST BEHIND THE MAIN HOUSE. BELOW YOU WILL SEE PHOTOS OF IT IN A TV EPISODE AND WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TODAY. The Still can be found near the coordinates: N 33° 48.907 W 083° 58.594

Above is a TV screen capture of the Moonshine scene in the episode "HIGH OCTANE". Below is a photo taken by me February 21, 2010 from the approximate same spot the scene above was shot from. I am told that this was actually a real Moonshine still many years before the Dukes Of Hazzard was shot. Yes...That is me again in the photo below wearing a hood and sunglasses.
