Le trou des
Sottais
La grotte de la
Chantoire, dite « Trou des Sottais », est une des cavités les plus
connues
dans la région verviétoise.
Surmontée par les ruines d’une ancienne chapelle dédiée à
sainte Anne et déjà utilisée au XIIIe siècle,
elle a souvent servi de terrain de jeux ou d’exploration à la
jeunesse des environs.
Sa réputation lui vient des fouilles y pratiquées à la fin du XIXe
siècle et, surtout,
de la légende qui en fit l’habitation de nutons ou « sottais
»
Attention !!! Site classé et Privé. Soyez donc respectueux de la
Nature.
