Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of “By the Sea” caches on this stretch of the Irish coast line. It is a popular destination all year round. The location brings you to a fine white sandy beach which is not well sign-posted. Here there are acres of soft sandy dunes ideal for a picnic. The beach is renowned for its very rare sea shells and unusual sea stones and pebbles.

The cache is easily accessible requiring no special equipment. The cache is a camouflaged 35mm film roll micro container with a log and writing instrument. Be careful to access and conceal the cache well out of sight of any potential muggles. While the road to this location is quite narrow and uneven, drivers need not be worried as there is ample car parking right at the final destination. There is also plenty of room to turn around for the journey home. Enjoy the drive from the N11 to the coast. It’s traditional in these parts to greet all who you pass on your journey with a wave of the hand and a nod of the head. After you have logged the cache and perhaps explored the beach and dunes, I suggest you walk back up the uneven track towards the road to the grotto by the babbling brook. N 52.43.481 - W06.09.566. It is dedicated to The Breastplate of St Patrick and is a lovely place to sit and contemplate for a while.
