Geocache Description:

This kauri tree is ranked 9th in New Zealand

Due to its shape it was decided not to mill it in the late 1890s. Smoking Gun had a cache here but it was achived in 2006. (GCHRW6). This tree is about 1500 years old. At the time of placing vandals had destroyed the information boards at the site. It is only 187 metres off the road but there are afew steps to get there.
There is a cache on the Camelback which is the hill you can see from the lookout
