Geocache Description:

This place is well known locally. Officially known as Egg Island; many locals still use the descriptor of Snake Island.

Recently the islands were purchased from the owner and became state reserve. My daughter recently rowed around the islands as part of a school trip organised with the Wooden Boat Centre at Franklin.

Most likely you will need some type of equipment to help you access the cache, dinghy or kayak type. If you are a confident swimmer in river water and want to give it a shot the distance from the nearest opposite access is just under 200m, refer WP1.

There are quite a few places on the Huon River to launch a boat, refer WP2 for the closest. We launched the boat from Lower Wattle Grove and had a great trip up the river to hide the cache. The views from the river certainly provide a different perspective and is well worth a site seeing trip.

This cache is also the eighth in the series of “The Curse of the FTF (Tasmania)” ( GC1R9V7) originally started by Gorbak.

If you are the FTF for this cache, you are cursed (i.e. invited) to place the next "The Curse of the FTF (Tasmania)" cache in this series.

The guidelines:
1. If you are the FTF for this cache, you are cursed (i.e. invited) to place the next "The Curse of the FTF (Tasmania)" cache in this series within two (2) months.
2. You are cursed (i.e. invited) to NOT find make any other FTF attempts until you have placed the next cache in this series.
3. To share the FTF love around, you are cursed (i.e. invited) to only be a FTF for this series once.
4. Caches in this series can be of any type (e.g. traditional, puzzle, multi, etc.) and must be hidden in Tasmania.
5. You are cursed (i.e. invited) to include this set of guidelines in your cache description, and include the list of any/all who have been cursed before you.
6. (*) Note: All curses used in the production of this cache are entirely fictitious. There is no real curse preventing you from claiming the FTF for this cache, or any cache in this series.
