Since Campcreekers' cache a mile away had to be archived, I decided to resurrect this last cache in his series (Sorry Cowboy but I can't find a hiding place for your ammo can here). Just down the river about .8 miles is the mouth of the Wakarusa at the Kaw aka The Kansas River. This is also the site of the last Wakie river access before the Kansas. When the water is low, like it was when I placed this cache, you can see pilings under the bridge from the old wooden bridge replaced decades ago.
This place may not have the interesting folklore or geological features as the original cache site, but to the local kids of my age and older this place hosts many memories of girl friend make outs and break ups, fist fights and late night street parties, good times and bad times alike. This place even has ties to when my wife and I started dating those many years ago. I could go into detail but it's a bit embarrassing... to her.
We call this place.... "The Boat Docks"
