One reason the Geocaching.com logo is so tempting to modify for local use is that everyone involved in geocaching recognizes the 'charm bracelet' circle on top of a grid of yellow/green/blue/orange. Further, this image creates a "common anchoring theme" instantly recognizable (by everygeocacher) which is EASILY modifiable to include a 'localized charm' which often replaces the 'flag' in the orange portion of the picture. The general idea of 'easily recognizable but leaving room for customization' is a very powerful one.

Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is most often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek", sharing many aspects with orienteering, treasure-hunting, and waymarking.
To find the cache you must have informations from our caches “GeoLogo - Yellow as Sun”(Y), “GeoLogo - Green as Green”(G),“GeoLogo - Blue as Water”(B), “GeoLogo - Orange as Earth”(O). In order to obtain the coordinates of the cache, you need to complete them replacing letters with numbers of others 4 caches.
