This is one of a series of caches created for the purpose of introducing geocachers to the rich history, the extensive path network and the general scenic beauty of the Irvine Valley.
Cessnock and Burnhouse Brae woodlands have an excellent extended pathway that runs from Galston, connects with the Threepwood walks and ends at Target Wood. It follows the Burn Anne for most of the way and passes by close to Cessnock Castle.
Wildlife abounds in this area with deer, fox, badgers, woodcock and buzzards to mention but a few.
