Geocache Description:

Trailhead and parking coord’s below – this is the best (and only) access to this lovely area.

The Foster Conservation area is a parcel first settled by the Foster family back in 1848. The City of River Falls acquired this land to protect it for its historical significance and because it is a remnant of the prairie and oak savannah that once covered the entire Kinnickinnic River Valley. There is a nice plaque with more information on the conservation area at the POI coordinates below (the nice path takes you right up to it). This is also the location of the Foster Cemetery, and gives you a beautiful view of the Kinni and surrounding hills.

Path to the cache is a pleasant walk most of the way. Just a small hill to navigate down to GZ and a couple of thorn bushes. Take the route nearest the small lake and loop to the beacon and it’ll be pretty easy. A regular ammo can awaits.
