Geocache Description:

A small cache that pays homage to a movie I just watched..."Pan's Labyrinth" a 2006 Spanish language fantasy film written and directed by Mexican film-maker Guillermo del Toro.

BRING YOUR OWN PENCIL!!

In Pan’s Labyrinth…Ofelia, a young girl, discovers a fairy. She chases it and leads her through an ancient Labyrinth. There, she meets a Faun, who says that he believes her to be the reincarnation of a princess. He gives her three tasks to complete to ensure her royalty and return to that realm. The first task is to retrieve a key from the belly of giant, beetle-eating toad that lives in the bowels of a Fig tree. He tells her that the tree is dying because of the toad's presence, and her goal is to get three stones into the toad's stomach to kill it, save the tree, and obtain the key. Ofelia sets out to find the tree. She crawls into a hole in the tree and navigates her way into the bottom and is confronted by the toad. After throwing the rocks into the toad's mouth, it expels its stomach and with it, comes the golden key. Ofelia retrieves it, and crawls back to the surface, and out of the tree.

I caught this hiding spot with KAOSDV8 while showing him the tree and how it reminded me of the movie. My ode to "Pan" doesn't include talking to a goat-man-like creature and venturing under Fig trees or anything fancy like that, but I ensure you will have a good time! =)

I made a special key for FTF!! congrats...kbtag! =)
Don't try take the key that is glued!! Good luck!!
