A Night Out East
With all the
night caches being on the west side of Wichita, I decided to bring
some of that fun east so that more people could enjoy my favorite
type of geocaching…night caches! Under the tutelage of the
Badd One himself, I have come up with this fun little nighttime
adventure in classic Lincoln B form. All ages and 4 legged friends
are welcome, so come on out and enjoy the east side at night.
The posted
coordinates will lead you to the first reflective trail marker.
Follow the markers along the path, oh wait, there is no path! Well,
follow the reflectors through the various types of terrain and keep
an eye out for some of this Wichita Wild Habitat Area’s local
wildlife. After approximately a mile, you will come across a group
of reflectors in the shape of a “V”. This is not the
location of the Final, but is the tool you will need to get there.
Once you have found this group of reflectors, stand on the south
side of them and look through them to the north. You will see a
small skinny tree a short distance away. Line this small tree up in
the center of the “V” and visually project a straight
line directly beyond it. There you will find the final at the base
of a tree, and can claim your east side night Victory.
As with any
nighttime adventure, load up some fresh batteries and make sure you
let someone know where you are going. Enjoy!
