Geocache Description:

The Ohama-Koen is the oldest park in Sakai City opened in 1879.

In 1903, this park attracted a lot of attention where the 5th Domestic Exposition was held with an aquarium largest in the East Hemisphere.

The park was famous then for its beautiful white sand beach with green pine trees --- but not any more. All kinds of industrialization and modernization have eventually eliminate the beautiful beach but ended up with man-made landfills instead.

Now the park has various sports utilities for citizens. And there remains some trace of past.

A cache is hidden in a bush in the park.
