A BEACH IN REMISSION
It was not all that many years ago that this beach was not good to use or swim because of the pollution. This emanated from a nearby chemical factory whose effluent was pumped out to sea from here. The factory is long gone and the badly discoloured rocks and water seem to be back as they should be. This is not a beach easily seen from the highway so it tends to be bypassed.It is quite good really and would be an ideal place for the kids and the dogs. There is a track in so please dont park on the highway verge. The track in can only be accessed travelling west to east on the Highway. The rough track is driveable but only is you have a high clearance 4WD. After wet weather, ponds cover the width of the track in places. It is strongly suggested that after crossing the railway line, park your vehicle in one of two spots that are within about 20m of the railway line. Then walk to GZ along the rough track. Once within about 30m of GZ, make your way to the beach and approach the hide from the beach.
