Geocache Description:

Statue of Namban-jin is standing on the Namban-bashi Bridge near Nankai Railway Sakai Station.

In the late 16th century through the early 17th century, Sakai was a port city of international trade and merchandise with Portugal and Spain. Those people from Portugal and Spain were called Namban-jin who not only contributed to international trade but also spreading Christian religion. Among others, a Spanish preacher Francisco de Xavier was one of the influential figures visiting Sakai.

The Statue of Namban-jin will be found standing on the Namban-bashi Bridge. Guess who he is.
