An easy hike to a GREAT view of Camel's Hump.
This cache is located (with permission) in Camel's Hump State Park. Please respect the area, avoid buswhacking, and stay on the trails as much as possible.
75 Feet from this cache you will find a bench. Have a seat and take in the unusual view of Camel's Hump. Chrisnic and I came here on a different mission but a foot of snow and an unplowed road nearby lead us to this trail instead. we hadn't knonw about this trail and we pleasantly surprised.
The parking coords bring you to the trailhead of "Camel's Hump View Trail". From the parking coords you can access three caches that we placed on a day of zero temps and sub zero wind chills. The "placed date" does not accurately reflect the day we were actually here. When you see the area and the view I hope you will feel this is a cache worthy of the drive.
You can get to this cache via the straight, gated road, or the more winding hiking trail. Either way, you will be rewarded with an easy find and a sweet scenic view.
I was asked by the Forester if i really wanted to go with a "winter" name for this cache, and yes, I do. When you are caching in our great state where we experience extremes in temperatures and weather, I like to remind seekers of what the area might have been like at various times of the year.
Whether you are here in the short snowy days of winter, in the warm brighter days of the year, or in the brilliantly colored, crisp days of Autumn, I hope you will receive the same satisfaction from finding these caches as we got from placing them.
