While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

Skjold's fist nano. Please stop here if you travel through Skjold.

This cache is a tribute to those who never gave up. They succeeded in getting Isvik on the map. After making their own signs, the road authorities finally agreed to putting up signs that marked where Isvik really is.

Much has happenend in Skjold over the years.
They used to drive through Skjoldavik in order to go east, but nowadays, the road goes straight through the hillside. In a few years, the road will hopefully preceed into a new tunnel, going underground.

You can see the old road travelling both under the new road and beside it. A smal commercial area consisting of a grocery shop,a flowerist, a cafe, a interior design shop, a bank, the doctors office, a bakery and a door manufactorer, pretty much cover the inhabitants needs in everyday life. But commercial areas has it's disadvantage; where there used to be hills with old, great trees, there are now appartments and parking.

But Isvik is situated with easy access to E134, and Aksdal is less than 15 minutes away.
