Geocache Description:

The Southern SMR #5 begins at SMR#4 and will lead you on an easy hike along the Wide Carriage Trail that parallels the White Rahway River Trail. The trail affords good views of the River and will take you over Stone Bridges designed by the Olmsted Brothers. They were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's. You will then pass CAMPBELL'S POND and see the eerie "Abandoned Pumping Station" owned by the East Orange water Company. The terrain is easy-intermediate in difficulty with minimal bushwhacking.

The cache is hidden in a Pile of Rocks at the base of a Beech tree STUMP about 100' uphill from the trail. It's a Lock 'n Lock container holding a Log, Pencils, Stuff and THE MISSING "E & F" COORDINATES FOR SMR #6. (Please Cick for "The Southern SMR #6- a 4 Mile Loop Hike").
