An ammo can near a junction of two trails in Mt Madonna park.
One year ago (Jan 2009), when I had just started Geocaching, I had lunch with my friend Dave, and it turns out he had gotten into Geocaching too! But, his time is a bit more limited, so he doesn't get as many chances to get out as I do... But he said... "Hey! I've got an old ammo box... do you want to create a new GC with that?" And I said, "Sure!"...
One year later... The ammo box has been sitting in my garage this whole time...
I just found out that Dave's company is closing the San Jose location, and he's being transferred to Oregon! The good news is that he loves that area, so cool! The bad news is... that even though we don't spend a whole lot of time together, now we won't even have the opportunity! Oh well... I guess that means we'll need to take a few trips to Oregon!
Well, he's leaving in a couple of months, and so I thought I would make a hide using his ammo can at Mt Madonna Park, which is one of the places he loves to hike! Hopefully, he'll have a chance to grab this before he leaves!
The hide is located at the junction of the Loop and Merry Go Round Trails. It's off trail by about 20 feet, but at the time of the hide I saw no poison oak.
Mt Madonna Park is open from 8:30am to Sunset.
