Geocache Description:

Super Phoebe, in honor of our recently passed family pet.

Phoebe was our beloved family pet, a miniature long-hair daschound, of sixteen years. On December 18, 2009 we had to send her little soul to a place where the cats are small and toothless, where her dog bowl is always full of sausage and eggs, and all the laps are warm and the owners are content to remain seated all day.

Each evening she would see her collar and leash come out of the closet and she would tug, spin, bounce and twirl until we were out the door and on our way. She knew the route by heart and knew exactly where to cross each street, jump each curb and sniff each bush.

In honor of the little dog with the heart of a lioness, I am putting together a cache that resembles the route Phoebe would take. This multi-cache should take about an hour to complete on foot, or 1/2-hour by car or bicycle. By following the coordinates at each WP, you will be led to the next WP and to the final cache location. A log and first-to-find prize $$$ will be waiting for the first-to-finder.

I hope you enjoy the route that we have assembled (Sweetmotherofpearl and I) and please think of those little legs covering all that ground each evening. The total route is about 2.1 miles with easy parking at each WP.

As usual, the posted coordinates are not to the final cache location, but are for the starting point, WP1. Each WP (5 in all) are within the route of Phoebe's path.

Of note, the cache and all waypoints begin with 45 degrees, 00 minutes and 123 degrees, 00 minutes so the necessary information on each waypoint is really the numbers after the decimal points, however, all information is included at each WP. There is a hint given, and I suggest you look at it before you make it to the final cache location or you will be frustrated.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MARK~WENDY FOR BEING THE FIRST-TO-FINDERS ON THIS CACHE!
