Geocache Description:


There was a residence of the Todo family (residence where the feudal lord lived) on in the Kanda Izumi-cho in Edo period. Because Ise country Tsu [**] Todo family was a town that introduced themselves Mamoru Izumi from generation to generation, and had made it to this residence mark, it became a name "Kanda Izumi-cho".

After Meiji Restoration, the government made the Tokyo medicine place (It is an attachment of Department of Medicine at The University of Tokyo hospital in present provinces the university east school, the Tokyo medical school, and the second Medical College attachment clinic antecedents in the back) on the residence site on [**]. The Mitsui commemoration hospital has been built next to the Izumi elementary school now.
The Kanda Izumi-cho escaped miraculously from a fire in the Great Kanto Earthquake on the (1923) September 1, 1923. This was due to a desperate fire prevention activity of people in the town. The region including the Kanda Izumi-cho is assumed to be "Ground of the Great Kanto Earthquake cooperation fire prevention", and the monument has been built.

As for the place in the Izumi park, an important conference on food like the meeting of prefectural governors etc. was held even if there was "Agriculture and forestry ministry Tokyo Local Food Agency Offices" before.
An Izumi park today was completed thanks to the neighborhood protest movement though the carrier was scheduled to build the distribution center when "Agriculture and forestry ministry Tokyo Local Food Agency Offices" was lost. The Izumi park is "Haven of rest" in which it becomes the hall of the combination radio physical exercise association of summer every year, and the nearby company employee and parties concerned in the hospital, etc. gather.

和泉公園

神田和泉町には、江戸時代、藤堂家の上屋敷（藩主が住んだ屋敷）がありました。伊勢国津蕃藤堂家は代々和泉守を名乗り、この屋敷跡にできた町なので「神田和泉町」という名前になりました。

明治維新後、政府は、蕃上屋敷跡地に東京医学所（後に大学東校、東京医学校、医科大学附属第二医院〔現在の東京大学医学部附属病院の前身〕）を作りました。現在は、和泉小学校の隣に、三井記念病院が建っています。
神田和泉町は、大正１２年（１９２３）９月１日の関東大震災で奇跡的に火災から免れました。これは、町の人達の必死の防火活動によるものでした。神田和泉町を含む一帯は、「関東大震災協力防火の地」とされ、記念碑が建っています。

和泉公園の場所は、かつて「農林省東京食糧事務所」があったところで、全国知事会議など、食糧についての重要な会議が開かれたところです。
「農林省東京食糧事務所」がなくなるにあたり、運送業者が配送センターを作る予定になっていましたが、住民運動のおかげで、今の和泉公園ができあがりました。和泉公園は、毎年、夏期合同ラジオ体操会の会場になったり、近くの会社員、病院の関係者などが集まったりする「憩いの場所」になっています。
