Geocache Description:

Can you put this to the refrain of a popular holiday song classic?... "The tree's lost it's needles, the credit card's melted, the in-laws are here~~~- it's the most ..." ... Of course you get it. Now try this: "The good will has gone by, but needs are still so high, the pantry's been cleared~~~ and it's the most- uncanny time of the year." Read on...

Here we are hosting an event at the trailhead of a new year once again. You may recall "(2)007, Licensed To Cache" ...or "2008's #28", no str8ght-forward theme, just a gr8t time. Or Nite Out #41 which came in "Feb-BREW-ary", on what was arguably the worst driving night of the season. They were all different, but had a lot in common. Each helped to ring in a new year of caching with a fun night out that offered first encounters with new friends and a chance to catch up with the old... opportunities to get hints, share stories, attach faces to some of those mischief-makers with silly names who taunt us with clever hides or reward us with memorable logs. Nights to laugh, smile, eat, drink and be merry! Last but not least, they all took place at Farrell's Restaurant in Portland where everything comes together so well! And by popular demand, we're going back for a fourth helping!

Because of the holidays and scheduling conflicts, we'll be getting together on Tuesday, January 12th rather than the first Tuesday as usual. The gathering officially starts at 7:00 p.m., but for those with FTF in mind, ("First to Feast"), come earlier.

Our theme for this time around is a little more grounded than our usual antics have set as a precident. We are hoping to make this a less "uncanny" time of the year for the local food bank. The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is one of heavy donation and heavier needs. Then the donations stop. The needs do not. Please consider helping us help restock the shelves. We'd love nothing more than getting a real workout loading and delivering the much needed goods. Google "food bank needs" if you don't know what is best.

You'll find us straight ahead in the back half of the restaurant. Can't miss it. J2 has an unusual EDBM cache planned for the second smiley of the night and this one is still there offering a "three-fer" if you haven't grabbed it yet. Who knows what other surprises are in store. Come on down! Come on Up! Come on over! This is CENTRAL! See you there!
