brisal5: Seems the temporary replacement cache has also gone. After surviving the bushfires it appears this placemnet is now compromised and so sadly it it time to go. Thanks to everyone that found and enjoyed the cache. A new area has now opened up for a fresh cache.

Geocache Description:

Hamley Bridge still boasts having the highest rail bridge in South Australia.

In it's hey day it was a very important railway town, with one line going to Peterborough and one to Gladstone. When i was just a boy i had ridden my push bike out to the cemetery to say hello to some relatives who had recently passed. There was a real strong south easterly wind blowing, the Peterborough express which was a steam train was heading for Peterborough and it was really belching out some black smoke and steam. it was less than 1km away and i could not hear it because of the wind, it was really eerie. Hamley Bridge was a great place to grow up and we had a lot of fun. feel free to take the time to explore through the surrounds and a couple of waypoints here for a step back through family history.
