The eleventh of the ‘To L’ and back’ series. Another drive-by at the crossing of Gawthorpe Lane and Lucy Lane. After finding continue over the stile to get to the next cache.
This series was designed to provide a pleasant walk (originally during the Christmas holidays to perhaps walk off that lunch) around what was a relatively cache free valley near our house. It is a circular walk from Kirkheaton to Lepton and back. It will probably take at least 2 hours...if you have solved all the puzzles in advance.
The series is designed to provide a bit of everything, various puzzles, traditional caches as well as the multi-cache scenario, with a good selection of cache sizes – from nano to large.
Sensible clothing and stout footwear is required as it gets muddy in many parts of the walk. Also while we were planning the series, one part was virtually a river.
All the caches are individually listed so they can be done independently, but to get to the final cache, you will need to visit at least 10 of the caches to retrieve the required information to locate it. A few of the caches can be done as a drive-by, but most are only accessible on foot – it isn't a pram/wheelchair friendly series – Sorry.
Suggest parking is on the road near Kirkheaton graveyard if you are planning to do the entire circuit. Alternatively there is space for a car next to cache number 1. Parking for most of the other caches is very limited.
