Geocache Description:

Zenkoji Temple Series #4 : Protection by Tiger

In the cache point, there is Kai Zenkoji Temple.
Zenkoji Temple is in the Shinano Province (Nagano Prefecture) now.
However, there is Zenkoji Temple in the Kai Province (Yamanashi Prefecture), too.

Why?

Kai Zenkoji Temple was created in this place by Shingen Takeda, lord of Kai Province in 1558.
Shingen Takeda feared burnt down by the war of Zenkoji Temple that was to be near, and moved the principal image etc. here in the effect country though invaded Shinano, and did the battle of Kawanakajima to Echigo's Kenshin Uesugi.
It returned to Shinano before long though the man of power at that time maintained the principal image for a while when the Takeda family was ruined afterwards.
Kai Zenkoji Temple has continued up to the present time as the buddhist temple of jodo sect.

Cache is a plastic case with 340ml.
Cost is not necessary to go to the cache point though the main temple and the treasure pavilion are charged.

By Train:
7 minutes on foot from the Zenkoji Station. (JR Central, Minobu Line)
15 minutes on foot from the Sakaori Station. (JR East, Chuo Line)

キャッシュポイントには、甲斐善光寺があります。
善光寺は信濃国（長野県）に現在あります。
しかし甲斐国、つまり山梨県にも善光寺があります。

何故でしょうか？

甲斐善光寺は永禄元年（1558年）、甲斐国国主武田信玄によってこの場所に創建されました。
武田信玄は信濃侵攻を行い、越後の上杉謙信と川中島の戦いを行いますが、近くにある善光寺の戦火による焼失を恐れ、本尊などを甲斐国のここに移しました。
その後武田家が滅ぶと、本尊はしばらくはその時の権力者が保持しますが、やがて信濃に戻りました。
甲斐善光寺は浄土宗の寺院として現在まで継続してきました。

キャッシュは、340mlのプラスチックケースです。
本堂、宝物館は有料ですが、キャッシュポイントへ行くには費用は必要ありません。
