Geocache Description:

One of a series of six historic caches.

The original church established by Jesse Knight in this area stood just east of this cemetery. Jesse Knight also donated the land for this cemetery where many of the original settlers are buried. At the time this area was known as Horse and Chaise and the church was called Knight’s Chapel. After the church was destroyed in the hurricane of 1926 the church was rebuilt in its current location and the cemetery continued to be owned by the trustees of the church.

There is a historical marker inside the cemetery with additional information about the cemetery. Please be respectful of the surroundings.

The other caches in this series are:
GC227K3 - Jesse Knight – Pine Level
GC227K0 - Jesse Knight – Owen Creek
GC227KA - Jesse Knight – Grace United Methodist
GC227K5 - Jesse Knight - Venice-Nokomis UMC
GCXAY2 - Miakka Memorial
