Theater Arts
This is located near the old Lompoc Theater, (which always reminded me of, if you squint a little bit, the marquee board of the town cinema shown in the movie It’s a Wonderful Life) now named the Calvert Performing Arts Center. This Center is currently awaiting renovation to a new and improved theater, with an upstairs lounge and a 100 seat small theater in the rear for smaller events. Hopefully it will get it’s funding soon and the renovations can begin. Next door to this beautiful old theater is a special sculpture garden by an internationally acclaimed artist, James Wolfe. James is a native of Pennsylvania, and has a hiking trail named for him that is lined with similar sculptures there. The scultptures along the trail, as are some of the ones in our own garden, are made of steel from remnants produced by the Bethlehem Steel plant in Pennsylvania.
