Geocache Description:

Merry Christmas - this cache was place on December 25, 2009. Cache is located on one of the trails leading to Gap Mountain, accessed just off Rt 124 on Monadnock Hyw - park in the small pull off, do not drive down the road.

Christmas cache is a small lock-n-lock container filled with small Christmas themed gifts (take a gift, leave a gift). This cache is part of the holiday series that began in November 2009 with Thanksgiving. I will try to give a quick history or tidbit about each holiday and I ask that you share something back in your log entry on geocaching.com.

What is Christmas? Christmas is rich in traditions and is celebrated all over the world. It is one of the most festive times of the year where family and friends gather to share gifts with one another, join in songs of the season and enjoy a meal together. The whole month of December can be considered the Christmas season as from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day, there are many celebrations and Christmas themed events taking place in towns and cities, schools, churches, and in businesses throughout the land.

Children love Christmas as one of the traditions of Christmas is the jolly old man they call Santa Clause, who travels on Christmas Eve to deliver presents to all good little boys and girls. Other fun traditions include the decorating of Christmas trees, sending of cards, decorating ones home and enjoying the music and carols of the season. A more detailed description of all of the traditions and history of Christmas can be found through the Christmas Wikipedia site found here: (visit link)

If you wish, please feel free to share one of your Christmas traditions and thanks for visiting. Merry Christmas
