Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache and it IS located at the posted co-ordinates.

I was out walking along the Elbow Valley Trail west of Bragg Creek the other day when I noticed a flash of red on a hilltop over on the other side of the Elbow River in the McLean Creek OHV area. I quickly grabbed my telescope to check it out and was surprised to see what appeared to be a red 1991 Land Rover 90! I attached my camera to the telescope and took a photo which I have included with this cache description. I was so impressed with this unique looking vehicle I decided build my own “90”. So, once I got home I went down the basement, found some old cedar fence boards and built it, just like that. Now, I intended parking this new 4x4 out in the woods and I wanted to keep it out of the weather, so I built a garage to protect it. Go check it out.

Park on Hwy 66 at the WP001 – this is where the Riverview Trail crosses hwy 66. Caution - In winter be careful that you don’t drop your wheels off the pavement, unless you have a Land Rover or its kin of course. Head up the Riverview Trail and then the Sulphur Springs Trail to WP002. At WP002 turn east and head across open meadows in a rising traverse towards WP003 staying below some hideous blow down. WP003 marks the start of a meandering path through the wind fallen trees. You can get to the cache without getting tangled up in that mess of fallen trees, although the last few meters may be on your hands and knees.

After you have signed in please carefully back the vehicle into its garage. There is a $5.00 Tim Horton card for the FTF as well as a FTF card and 10 finder’s cards. Although the cache container is small it does include a few trading items and there is room in the garage for some slightly larger stuff, isn’t there always a little more room in the garage.

Remember to keep your eyes open, as you never know when you might come across the real thing on the other side of the river in the McLean Creek OHV area, being driven by the real Red90!
