Hike near the Longhorn Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Located along one of the main trails in the Mineola Nature Preserve.

The Mineola Nature Preserve is a 3,000-acre public recreational area south of Mineola, Texas.

The park is free, open from daylight to dusk, seven days a week and includes a large covered pavilion with restrooms and a playground, several wildlife observation areas, an active beehive with clear sides for viewing, two ponds (fishing allowed) and more. It is owned by the City of Mineola and includes approximately five miles of walking trails and nearly 12 miles of horse trails.

The cache is a small plastic box with enough room for a few small items. It is located along the shorter section of the main trail. It lies near the edge of the preserve and will appear close to a County Road, but it cannot be accessed from that road. You must enter the preserve at the main entrance.

If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of Texas Longhorn or even a few buffalo in a fenced pasture nearby!
